Pastor’s wife Laura received a B.A. in Special Education from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. Her coursework included two classes in Sign Exact English which she utilized while working with non-verbal students with Autism. She also began work on a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders at William Paterson College before starting a family.
When she began to attend Central Baptist Church, she became involved with the Deaf ministry. Additionally, she completed a class in American Sign Language at New England Baptist College..
Laura was excited to be given the opportunity to work with the deaf community at Ocean County Baptist Church. She continued to take classes in ASL at Ocean County Baptist to develop her interpreting skills. She continues to learn and grow in her interpreting skills with much patience from the deaf community.
Laura has a burden for reaching the deaf community with God’s Word and interprets all services for the deaf. Her son Matthew is currently learning to sign as well.
